“Been a long time,” Dalek said, still pointing his pistols at Durge, “lost a bit of that armour keeping you humanoid, haven’t you?” “I… will have… my… revenge…” Durge lurched forwards; Dalek narrowly dodged his blow. He span around and began firing his pistols at Durge, each discharge passing harmlessly through the Gen’Dai’s body. “Your pistols… are harmless! I can… easily heal my… wounds…” Dalek continued firing. “It still causes damage, though, doesn’t it?” He dodged two more blows from Durge’s large, solid fists and leaped onto his back, wrapping his arm around Durge’s neck in a headlock. But Durge grabbed him and threw him against the wall. Dalek’s bruised body slumped onto the ground. He tried to get up but Durge thrust his foot firmly on Dalek’s back. He lifted his head to see an explosion go off in the corridor. “More explosives? You are insane!” “You have no idea, Rogun!” Durge replied angrily. “Oh? Your voice box working properly again? It’s a pity it healed earlier than I was hoping.” “Silence, Mando scum!” Durge picked up one of Dalek’s blaster’s with what appeared to be a hand and some fingers; he pointed the blaster at point blank at his head. “Prepare to die, Gardo Rogun!” Before he could fire at Dalek’s head, a blaster discharge from the corridor shot Durge’s hand clean off. For a few crucial seconds Durge was weakened, so Dalek rolled over, grabbed his two blasters and stood up. He delivered a front snap kick to Durge’s face and leaped over to where his unseen saviour was; he recognised his face. “Volrox! Am I glad to see you!” “You’ve really gotten yourself into trouble this time, haven’t you?” Volrox replied. “This isn’t exactly the best time to talk, you know!” Dalek said as the duo began to run. By now Durge had already re-attached his hand and was beginning to pursue them. Volrox removed a detonator from his belt and threw it up at the ceiling. When they were a safe distance away he detonated it, causing the ceiling to collapse and blocking the path between the duo and Durge. “We should be safe here for the time being,” Volrox said. “There was another explosion earlier,” Dalek said, “where did that come from?” “That came from the bridge,” Volrox said, “probably the work of Durge. The bridge is sealed off.” “Who was in there?” “Megan, along with a few troops.” “Can you contact her?” “There’s no signal.” “Then we’re going to the bridge.” Dalek raced off, Volrox following close behind. ------ Hey guys, that was the second half of Part 3 of The Ghost of Karthakk.
