Description

Part 18!

Sam braced for impact as he stared down to the surface beneath him. The odds that he would actually survive were slim, but when did a Corellian care?
Just about now.
Sam's shuttle hit the ground hard, going end over end as it hurled itself across the sand. Sam held on for his life.
"Hang in there, Cap!" Tricky said over the comm.
Sam summed up all the strength he had, and pulled himself up to see past the nose of the shuttle. There was a fast approaching rock directly in front of him.
"Oh, blast..."
The shuttle hit the rock, catapulting Sam out the wind screen.
As he flew through the air he immediately regretted waking up in the morning.
Sam stabilized, and landed on the unforgiving sand.
He let out all his breath at once, keeping him from breathing for a while. It was a good thing, too. That alone absorbed a lot of the shock from falling.
When he had air in his lungs he contacted Tricky.
"Tricky," he said with a cough. "How far are we from Mos Espa?"
Tricky returned with a negative beep.
"What about any moisture farmers?"
Another negative beep.
Sam hesitated, fearing the answer.
"Mos Eisley?"
And, as fate would have it, Mos Eisley was less then twenty yards behind him.
"Wonderful," he said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
He began walking to the city when he spotted a figure watching him from a nearby rock formation. The character was hard to make out. The only distinctive feature was a long, dark brown cloak, with a shadowing hood covering the person's face.
Sam walked in the shuttle and grabbed anything valuable from it. He set the larger items on a makeshift sled, and then dragged it to the city.

Tatooine, Krayt cantina

Turtle, Ani and Badger, now awake and well, stood in the dimly lit cantina with nothing but a case full of credits to the captain that would get them off of Tatooine.
"See anyone ya like?"
Turtle asked Badger.
"This has to be the worst situation to be in." Badger said.
"Lets try the Wookie," Turtle said, pointing to the large fury alien at the bar.
They approached him, and Turtle tapped him on the shoulder.
The ferocious creature turned and nodded, guzzled down his drink, then asked them something in shyyrwook.
"Oh, right. No translator. Ani, a little help?"
Ani, being a commando and former bounty hunter could speak many languages. Including the tongue twisting language of the Wookie.
The two spoke back in forth for a minute, then parted ways.
"He says he doesn't like our company background, and 'low payment', even with our resources in the Alliance."
Turtle sighed.
"Well, we might as well go from captain to captain. This may be a while."
Badger and Ani followed reluctantly.
"I hate Tatooine." Ani said.
"Me too." Badger agreed.
"Come on, guys! It's not so bad. At least were alive and well.
There is an Empire between us and freedom, but we can find a way through it." Turtle said as she lead the way to each spacer, captain or pilot there was.
